12 WAYS TO PREVENT YOUR LIPS FROM GETTING DRY.

It's almost harmatthan season and we all know how messy our lips get this period. It's mostly embarrassing and painful so it's no surprise you're interested in knowing how to be on the safe side this year.
Here are 12 ways to prevent dry lips

1. USE ALMOND OIL.
Almond oil is a moisturiser that contains free radical fighters Vitamin A and E which helps to heal up dry lips.

2. DON'T LICK YOUR LIPS.
We lick our lips to add more moisture but it makes them dry up even more. Your saliva contains acids that breakdown foods but it also irritates your lips. Plus continous licking will reduce your lip's natural oil.

3. DRINK WATER.
Staying hydrated is the key to almost everything. It helps your lips stay moist.

4. USE ALOE VERA.
It helps reduce the pains and heals small cuts that occur when your lips are chapped or burned.

5. BREATH THROUGH YOUR NOSE.
Where else do we breath right? When cold, people tend to breath through their mouth which also contributes to dry lips.

6. USE VASELINE.
Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) is the oldest piece to the puzzle when it comes to preventing dry lips. It is super moisturizing and contains that luxe rosy flavour we all love.

7. AVOID SPICY FOODS.
Say goodbye to hot wings, pepper meat and any other spicy foods you love this season. They contribute to dry lips.

8. DON'T PEEL IT.
Resist the urge to peel your flaked lips because it only causes injuries and more pains. Keep applying moisturiser instead.

9. SCARF UP.
Wear a scarf over your mouth, the wind contributes to chapped lips. It dries up the moisturizer you applied earlier and gives room for a flaky lip.

10. USE LIP BALM.
If you are not a scarf person, always have your lip balm with you to apply immediately your lips feels dry again. It's a continous process but it's worth it.

11. DON'T USE ALL TOOTHPASTE.
Use toothpaste that doesn't contain synthetic flavors. They cause allergic reactions that makes your lip flaky.

12. AVOID CITRUS FRUITS.
If your lips are chapped, do not drink orange juice, or eat grapefruits or any other citrus fruits. They dry up your lips.

If you still haven't gotten result, it may be as a result of an allergic reaction. Consult your dermatologist just to be sure.
